The ProQual Level 3 Award in Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment is a nationally recognized qualification designed for individuals who conduct fire risk assessments in medium-risk buildings. This qualification is aligned with the skills and knowledge outlined in BS 8674, a code of practice for fire risk assessors in the built environment, and is accredited by ProQual. It provides a mechanism for fire risk assessors to demonstrate their competence and meet industry standards.

o Has less than 7 stories above ground level.
o Has no occupied basement level.
o Has no abnormal hazards.
o Is less than 600 square metres.

No, there are no formal, academic entry requirements for this qualification. We will however perform an initial assessment of candidate knowledge and skills to identify any gaps and to help determine the assessment plan. Candidates must be employed in a role, or enrolled on a training course, that will provide them the opportunity to carry out fire risk assessments in a medium-risk building.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old on the day that they are registered on the course.

Yes. It is accredited by Ofqual and delivered by ProQual AB, a recognised awarding body. It is listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Yes. After the 5-day face-to-face training, you will complete written assignments applying the principles you’ve learned. Most learners finish this within 6 weeks.

Yes, however due to the practical nature of the content there will be requirements to undertake fire risk assessments if done face to face or online. However, post-course support and submissions will be done online.
